2. RESERVATIONS
Reservation for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Candidates
Candidates with following disability are eligible to apply in terms of
extant Government guidelines :
Blindness - Persons who suffer from either of the following conditions :
(i) Total absence of sight (ii) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200
(Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses, (iii) Limitation of the
field
of vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or worse.
Low vision - Person with impairment of vision of less than 6/18 to 6/60 with
best correction in the better eye or impairment of field in any one of the
following categories:
(a) Reduction of fields less than 50 degrees
(b) Heminaopia with macular involvement
(c) Attitudinal defect involving lower fields
Hearing Impairment means loss of 60 decibels or more in the better ear in
the conversational range of frequencies.
Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy - Person who has a minimum of 40% of
physical defect or deformity which causes an interference with the normal
functioning
of the bones, muscles and joints.
a.. ?? As the reservation for Persons with Disabilities candidates is on
horizontal basis, the selected candidates will be placed in the appropriate
category
(viz. SC/ST/OBC/GEN) to which they belong.
a.. ?? Wherever written examination is held, the blind candidates and
candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use own
scribe
at their cost during the written examination. In all such cases where a
scribe is used, the following rules will apply :
1.. i) The candidate will have to arrange his own scribe at his own cost
2.. ii) The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade
lower than
the stipulated eligibility criteria
iii) The scribe should be from an academic discipline other than that of the
candidate. The scribe should possess less marks than the candidate but in no
case more than 60% in his own academic stream which has to be different from
that of the candidate.
iv) Both the candidate as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable
undertaking, confirming that the scribe fulfils all the stipulated
eligibility
criteria for a scribe as mentioned above. Further, in case it later
transpires that he did not fulfil any of the laid down eligibility criteria
or suppressed
material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled,
irrespective of the result of the written test.
v) Such candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20
minutes for every hour of the examination.
3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
NATIONALITY/ CITIZENSHIP:
A candidate must be either i) a Citizen of India or ii) a subject of Nepal
or iii) subject of Bhutan or iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India
before
1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or v)
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka,
East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania
(formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and
Vietnam
with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a
candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) shall be a person
in whose
favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of
India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary
may
be admitted to the examination/ interview conducted by the Bank but on final
selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the Government
of India has issued the necessary eligibility certificate to him

5. SELECTION PROCEDURE
The selection for the post code Nos. 8,9,10,16,18,19, 20,21,22,23,24,25,26 &
27 shall be made on the basis of performance in interview only. For all
other
posts, the Bank will decide appropriate selection procedure, i.e. selection
by Written Test and Interview or only Interview, depending on the number of
applications received for the post(s). Merely meeting the eligibility
criteria does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. The Bank
reserves
its right to shortlist the candidates based on their qualification,
experience and suitability and call the required number of candidates for
interview.
The candidates called for written and / or interview shall be suitably
informed about the selection procedure.
The bank reserves the right, if required, to adopt any mode of selection for
any of the posts. The Bank may conduct written examination where the
selection
by only interview is prescribed, or to hold a second stage of written
examination on the basis of the order of merit in the written examination of
the
first stage , as referred to above. If the second stage of written
examination is held, the subsequent process of interview and further process
would be
on the basis of order of merit of the second stage examination.

Note: Candidates have to score minimum qualifying marks in each of the
objective tests and/or in total marks obtained in all objective tests as per
the
cut-off marks determined by the Bank, on the basis of group performance. In
objective tests, there will be negative marks for wrong answers.
(ii) Descriptive Test: Duration of descriptive test 60 minutes
It will consist of 5 questions with internal options for 300 marks in the
area of specialisation. The minimum qualifying marks for Descriptive Test is
50%
and the marks so obtained shall be added to the marks obtained in Objective
tests for preparing the merit list.
6.(b) INTERVIEW:
Candidates qualifying the written test i.e.Objective Test and Descriptive
Test shall be called for interview in the ratio of 1:3( 1:5 for SC/ST), in
order
of their ranking as per the total marks obtained by them in the Written
Test. The Interview shall consist of 100 marks with a minimum qualifying
marks
of 50%.
Note:
a) Candidates have an option to answer the Objective Test and Descriptive
Test in Hindi or English.
b) The bank reserves the right if required to hold a second stage of written
examination on the basis of the order of merit in the written examination of
the first stage as referred to above. If the second stage of written
examination is held the subsequent process of interview and further process
would
be on the basis of order of merit of the second stage examination.

will not entitle him /her to participate in selection process for all the
posts.
In other words, a candidate can appear only for one post even he is issued
call letters for other posts due to multiple applications submitted by the
candidate

Requisite Application Fees and Postal Charges should be sent only by Demand
Draft/Pay Order favouring "Bank of India Recruitment Project 2007" payable
at
'Mumbai' only.
The Bank will not accept the Demand Draft / Pay Order drawn at a place other

not be bound to return, refund or collect any such Draft or Pay order not
drawn as stated above. The applications of all such candidates shall be

9. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
(a) The Bank takes no responsibility for any delay in receipt or loss in
postal transit of any application or communication.
(b) As the applications are to be processed by a computerized system, it is
essential that the application is strictly in accordance with the prescribed
format and properly and completely filled and contains no
correction/alteration/ cuttings.
(c) A candidate must fill the application form in CAPITAL LETTERS IN HIS/
HER OWN HANDWRITING IN HINDI / ENGLISH ONLY.

1.. (d) Before applying for any post, the candidate should ensure that
he/she fulfils the eligibility and other norms mentioned in this
advertisement.
Decision of Bank in all matters regarding eligibility of the candidate, the
stages at which such scrutiny of eligibility is to be undertaken, the
documents
to be produced for the purpose of the conduct of examination, interview,
selection and any other matter relating to recruitment will be final and
binding
on the candidate. No correspondence or personal enquiries shall be
entertained by the bank in this behalf.
1.. (e) In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a
candidate does not fulfil the eligibility norms and/or that he/she has
furnished any
incorrect/false information/certificate/documents or has suppressed any
material fact(s), his/her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these
shortcomings
is/are detected even after appointment, his/her services are liable to be
terminated.
1.. (f) Candidates must submit attested photocopies of all the
certificates in support of their educational qualification, experience, date
of birth,
caste, etc., alongwith the application form. An application not accompanied
by requisite application fees and postal charges as indicated in 8(a) above,
relevant certificates in respect of Caste, Category etc. (only in respect of
SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates) or not in the prescribed format or not signed by
the candidate or incomplete in any respect will not be entertained and will

1.. (g) Candidates belonging to OBCs but coming in the "CREAMY LAYER"
are not entitled to OBC reservation. They should indicate their category as
"Gen"
or "Gen Persons with Disabilities' as applicable. OBC Certificates in the
format as prescribed by the Govt. of India and issued by the Competent
Authority
inter alia, specifically stating that the candidate does not belong to the
Socially Advanced Sections excluded from the benefits of reservations for
OBCs
in Civil Posts and Services under Govt. of India i.e. carrying 'CREAMY
LAYER' clause based on income for the financial year 2005-2006 issued on or
after
01.04.2006 should be submitted with the application.
1.. (h) Persons with Disabilities candidates claiming the benefit of
reservations/age
relaxation should submit a copy of Medical Certificate as specified in the
Disabilities Act of 1995 in support of their disability.
(i) A recent, recognizable passport size photograph should be firmly pasted
on the application and should be signed across by the candidate. Three
copies
of the same photograph should be retained with you for use at the time of
written examination and interview. Candidates are advised not to change

appearance till the recruitment process is complete. Failure to produce the
same photograph at the time of the written test/interview may lead to
disqualification.
(j) The candidates will have to appear for written test and interview at
their own expense. However, eligible SC/ST outstation candidates attending
the
interview will be reimbursed to and fro second (sleeper) class rail/bus fare
by the shortest route on production of evidence of travel.
(k) Candidates serving in Government/Public Sector Undertakings (including
banks) should send their application through proper channel and produce a
"No
Objection Certificate" from their employer at the time of interview, in the
absence of which their candidature may not be considered. Advance copy of
the
application alongwith the original D.D./Payorder may be sent to the
addressee within the stipulated time.
(l) Only candidates willing to serve anywhere in India should apply.
(m) Any request for change of address will not be entertained.
(n) Any resultant dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject
to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts situated at Mumbai. .

(p) In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation in version other
than English, English version will prevail.

(r) The candidates will appear for the written examination at the allotted
centres at their expenses and risks and the Bank will not be responsible for
any injury/ losses, etc. of any nature.
(s) The Bank may at its discretion hold re-examination wherever necessary in
respect of a centre/venue/specific post of a candidate(s).
(t) Appointment of selected candidates is subject to his/her being declared
medically fit and verification of character and antecedents as per the
requirement
of the Bank. Such appointment will also be subject to the Service & Conduct
Rules of the Bank. The selected candidate, if appointed, will be on
probation
for a period of 2 years from the date of joining the services of the Bank.
(u) Banking is a versatile activity, which needs all round grooming of the
selected candidates. Accordingly, the specialist officers,
recruited/selected
in the Bank, will be required to acquire overall knowledge of various facets
of banking for which the Bank will provide necessary on-the-job/theoretical
training in Staff Training College, etc., so as to enable specialist
officers to undertake all type of banking activities.
(v) All Candidates must submit attested photocopies of all the certificates
in support of their educational qualification, experience, date of birth,
caste
etc. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Persons with Disabilities
Category are required to submit an attested copy of their caste
certificate/certificate

interview, failing which his/her candidature will be cancelled.
Action against candidates found guilty of misconduct :
1. Candidates are advised in their own interest that they should not furnish
any particulars that are false, tampered, fabricated or should not suppress
any material information while filling up the application form.
2. At any stage of recruitment, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty
of :
(i) using unfair means during the examination or
(ii) impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person or
(iii) misbehaving in the examination hall or taking away the question
booklet/answer sheet from the examination hall or
(iv) resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his/her
candidature by selection or
(v) obtaining support for his/her candidature by any means, such a candidate
may
in addition to rendering himself/herself liable to criminal prosecution, be
liable :
1.. a. to be disqualified from the examination for which he/she is a
candidate
2.. b. to be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period,
from any examination or recruitment conducted by Bank.
3.. c. for forfeiting the fees paid by such candidate.
3. The Bank would be analyzing the responses of a candidate with other
candidates, who appeared for the examination to detect patterns of
similarity. If
as per the laid down procedure it is suspected that the responses have been
shared and the scores obtained are not genuine/valid, the Bank reserves the
right to cancel his/her candidature.

All eligible candidates will be issued Call Letters at the correspondence
