But the problem is though, I have access to XP computers at my school and we
are not allowed to log-on as administrators. I am just wondering whether
there is any patch of vista update available to fix this problem. There has
to be a way out without wasting too many CDS. I have contacted microsoft
customer service and just weighting to hear from them. My only hope is that
one doesn't here stupid answers like: "you need to upgrade to vista premium
to use such facilities".

I see, we shall deal with this decisively!
Did you burn the CD using the Windows XP's HMAPI.DLL application? That is to
say, did you use "Write these files to CD" option in the context menu of CD
drive icon?
If yes, then try to burn the CD using Nero and then try accessing in Vista
computer.

If you have more, untolarable problems, or if you are really fed up with
Vista then, do the following:
1) Back up the entire disk on to an external hard drive or something just
after creating Vista recoverable DVD.
2) Search for the device drivers, like Touch pad, audio, internal modem,
bluetooth, graphics card etc, that are compatible with Windows XP operating
system.
Most likely you will be getting these drivers from manufacturer's website,
or it is also possible that you might be able to contact and get it from
your nearest HP servicing center, free of cost, of course.

With best regards
Syed Imran
