Hi Ananya, I appreciate your effort to understand the problems faced by people with visual impairments. I am a researcher and also doing research with people with visual impairments for some time. I have conducted both surveys and interviews with visually impaired people before and would like to suggest some improvements from my experience. Hope this will help.
1. I can still see the responses given by the participants from your first survey link. Please change the settings if possible. 2. Is it really necessary to collect the name of the participants? From my understanding, it is always better not to collect identifiable information if not needed. 3. It is appreciated while creating the survey not to force the participants to answer all the questions. They should have the right to skip any question if they want. 4. There are some questions which are not appropriate for the completely blind person. After knowing that a participant is completely blind you can conditionally remove them from the survey for them (such as Can you see the large print headlines in the newspaper? Do you see any colors or shapes? If yes, what are they? Do you have difficulty in identifying colors? Is it difficult for you to see labels on medicine bottles? Is it difficult for you to read prices when you shop?) 5. I believe you can get the answer to the question "Did you loose your sight due to disease, accident or trauma?" from the response of this question "What is the cause of your visual impairment?". You can avoid asking duplicate questions to make your survey more effective. Please feel free to reach me if you have any question. I wish you all the best for your research.
