You said you are using KNFB which does conversion of Image pdfs into
text. when you scan one page, it will be one image initially which can
be converted to text using "Optical character reader" OCR technology
available in all screen readers including KNFB, Jaws, NVDA and all
scanning softwares like ABBY finereader, kurzweil etc so that,
visually challenged people can understand the text available in that
image.
