Hi,
As said by many learned and experienced members here, acceptance is the
first key towards a successful and better life and always remember that
you are not alone with such condition and there are several ways of
doing the same thing. In my life, I have met several people who were in
the same condition and are now living a happy and peaceful life after
they realized that crying is not the solution and they can still do the
same things which they used to do with their vision. Driving bike may
not be possible as of now on the Indian roads with vision loss, but this
is also not impossible as there are people with blindness who are doing
this too outside of India. Further, not able to do one thing is not
regrettable if you can do many other better things. in my experience of
working on a helpline for people with blindness to guide them about
living life with blindness, I've talked to many such people who felt the
same way and after they realized about the various options available for
them to lead a better life, have moved out of their shells and are now
accomplishing their goals. Feel free to talk to me on 9315516985 any
time and I will be happy to assist you in any possible manner.
Best,
Satguru.

Thanks for your support friends. But indeed this is a difficult time
for me. I am unable to accept this condition. I haven't married so far
just because of the reason that later in my life, what if my partner
leaves me alone? I am unable to share my condition with my parants as
wel as they will be completely disappointed listening that I will be
blind in near future.
I am always fantasising about driving bike, going out in the market
with my friends , but all of sudden I realise, I am no more in that
well condition to do these all things at my own. I will have to remain
dependent upon others even for crossing the road, so what else can I
do now?
You are right, I should have such friends who have gone through
similar experiences. Let me talk to the people. If possible, suggest
me a good disability councellor to help me to change my approach. I
am really in trouble.

Acceptance and ownership of your disability in this phase will decide
your
future. Feel free to call me on 9892622230.

I am exactly like you. Could drive a bike ten years ago but can not
even
walk on the road. Don’t read books or videos. Meet and stay together
with people who have similar conditions like you. Peer counsel is the
best medicine. Will be happy to help. Call me on 9949349497 .
Remember that you are neither the first one nor the only one to undergo
this phase of life. Most of us had seen it in our lives.

Hi all, I am 32 year old, unmarried and posted on a reputed government
service. But I am gradually losing my sight due to RP.
Erlier I was able to see the world from my eyes, but now everything is
becoming blurred. The matter of the fact is, I am gradually losing the
hope to live in this world. I cry all the time after my office hours.
I feel lonely. I don't enjoy anything now. As I am most of the time
engrossed into my previous sightful life. I feel everything is going
away, and I feel very hopeless.
Kindly suggest me any good books to regain my confidence to live in
this life. Also tell me any video/audio content so that I could learn
how to live life with disability.
Please understand my situation, as I have almost lost all the hopes.
