Firstly, sympathy makes it worse. So you need no sympathies. Accept the circumstances as they come to you and devise the necessary mechanism to cope with the new situations. Be brave and develop a spirit of struggle against all odds. Ups and downs come and go. It is not our physical power but our mental courage which assists us overpower the unfavourable circumstances. You say, you have become dependent and even cannot cross a road without support. But life is not just about crossing roads. Everybody is dependent upon others in one or the other way. If the richest man, with all his bodily capacities happens to drop amongst the community, whose language is unknown to him, he cannot ask for a glass of water without dependence on somebody who knows both the languages and can translates for him. There are many who are literate enough but still cannot fill in the bank documents. They bother bank employees but do not feel that they are dependent. When one uses public transport, he's dependent on the driver; lest the driver should meet with an accident and the passengers suffer injuries. How many examples can I give. So do not feel ashamed of dependence upon others. What else is your problem?

But indeed this is a difficult time for me. I am unable to accept this condition. I haven't married so far just because of the reason that later in my life, what if my partner leaves me alone? I am unable to share my condition with my parants as wel as they will be completely disappointed listening that I will be blind in near future. I am always fantasising about driving bike, going out in the market with my friends , but all of sudden I realise, I am no more in that well condition to do these all things at my own. I will have to remain dependent upon others even for crossing the road, so what else can I do now? You are right, I should have such friends who have gone through similar experiences. Let me talk to the people. If possible, suggest me a good disability councellor to help me to change my approach. I am really in trouble.
