Hi Amar In addition to those issues pointed below, In many PDF files I have found text joined together. The screen reader makes some effort to speak it out but it sounds gibberish. To summarize the points 1 It should be Unicode compliant 2 Any protection applied like print disabled etc. may continue to have the restrictions but the text should be available to screen readers. 3 Image PDF files should have OCR to convert into text and the OCR engines should be having Indian languages as well. 4 In a save as text option there should be RTF format by which the formatting of the document is preserved. 5 Forms should be accessible by screen readers. 6 Arbitrary string concatenation issue should be addressed. 7 Under edit menu to add to select the table. This can help in copying a table. 8 In accessibility selection dialog box the start button does not have a keyboard access key. That should be added. Sometimes I have found the tab does not go to it. 9 Sometimes when using a browser, the PDF file opens inside the browser Here the OCR functionality provided by screen reader too does not work. It is very difficult to read that document. The user is forced to save the document first and read it later on. The suggestion is when screen reader is active the document should open in the stand alone Acrobat reader and not in the browser.

This will eliminate the cumbersome task of using third party software for conversion of image file and files made with non-unicode /ttf fonts in languages like hindi into a text file.
