Sounds like a good idea, I hope there is not too much disturbance
introduced. I haave seen this chain with Cisco Webex meetings where
organisers used multiple hosts to connect maximum people and then all
connected to one master host.

I am not sure how the calls are being setup, but if they will be using
mute/unmute options for better clarity, then this kind of case has to be
kept in mind.

A (the teacher) connects with B, C, D, E (students) and F (second device),
and now F1-5 from second device.

All lines will be muted for except A while the teacher speaks, say now F1
has a doubt then F1 will unmute and also upon request F will require to
unmute so that all can hear the doubt. This will require a careful
syncronization.


And also who ever will call will bear the cost regardless of his/her
position in the chain.
