The biggest inaccessible part in the Delhi metro you will find that at most of the stations, lots of college going students keep sitting on the stairs of metro and there appears to be a very narrow lane for the by passers to pass through. Further, at most of the stations, the length of the tactile path is not in accordance with the length of the train, this is because when the tactile parts were designed at the stations, the metro trains used to have 4 coaches, But subsequently, they expanded them to have six or eight coaches, but the tactile paths have never been expended or modified accordingly.
Most of the elevators designed at the subsequent stages do not have Braille signages, in these elevators, they have now turned to embossed printing instead of Braille signages on the keys which I do not think as a healthy practice. Most of the trains now days are being operated by some inefficient crews, who do not know where exactly the trains have to be braked The metro people, who assist the blind people will keep insisting them to board the Ladies coach, however, many of the ladies, who don’t know the reality would secretly register a complaint over the phone and when the security men approach to the coach, they’ll first use a very derogatory language towards the blind people, but once they realise that the person is having some visual or any other disability, they’ll immediately then start abusing the complainers very badly, sometimes going to the extent of saying that most of the ladies have their brains in their knees!
