Thank you Nidhi and Sanjay.

I am not in favour of advising to seek exemption. Instead let us ensure that accessible biometric systems are installed mandatorily by all departments where attendance is captured using this mechanism.

Let NIC come out with an accessible mechanism.

Sanjay-which DOPT circular is this? Could you share?

Regards,

Amar Jain

Hello their.
Presently I am working in Delhi directorate of education and my department also has compulsory provision to mark attendance through adhar based biometric attendance for its employees, but the visually impaired employees of the department are exempted from marking the same under a circular issued which I am attaching here.

Hi all,

How do people with blindness mark their attendance using the BAS of NIC? I am told you need to punch in Aadhar number to be able to mark your attendance.

What accessibility measures exist to see that blind employees can handle this independently?

Are there any specific DOPT instructions in this regard?

Regards,

Amar Jain
