I used to travel with a laptop bag with electronics in it, including a braille-me external hard drive, laptop Etc. The fear was that if he thought to rob me and throw me out of the car, at the least they would have my last live location, even if they stole my phone also.
In South Africa crime is a big business. In India they tend to scam people but rarely physically attack and rob them with physical force. Back in South Africa crime was hard brute force crime, particularly against Indians because we are considered soft targets within Black communities. Anyway I digress.
