Hi Pranav, This is certainly not unique to India. In South Africa I worked for FNB (First National Bank) and they too refused for many years to provide Jaws on my workstation. Even when they did (after much haggling from my end), there was no hope for an upgrade since Jaws 2017 which they finally provided to me in the year 2018.
We’re talking about a National Bank here. So that’s perhaps true in many countries, despite legislation existing protecting people with disabilities in the workplace. The legal framework is one thing and practical implementation and enforcement is far from applied. Have a good day Folks. Over here, both jaws and nvda are used. However, these programs are packaged using Microsoft intune for installation and are running a few versions behind. This is the case with many large enterprises. It is ironic that companies are uncomfortable with open source programs. A large chunk of the server stack is open source. In addition, it is easier to audit the source code for flaws. Pranav -- Disclaimer: 1.
