Though, I couldn't attend this Convention but I'm aware of the problems faced
by the organizers and in this perspective, I fully agree to what you explained.

Subject: [AI] Convention feedback

> Hello all
>
> I appreciate the feedback regarding the convention and take them all in
> right spirit.
> Let me go over through it:
>
> 1) Introduction of members was not done
>
> We were planning to it in a different way. We wanted introduction to be done
> by different persons and so was with offering bouquets to the speakers. This
> would get an opportunity for large number of participants to come to the
> stage and inderectly get introduced.
>
> We started with it all right, however it was taking more time and we had to
> abandon it all together.
>
> We had actually planned the introduction session during the cultural session
> which was scheduled at karnavati hostel. The Karnavati hostel had a nice
> gardenwhere we were planning to keep it. Some logistic problems proped up and
> the cultural programme had to be done at the auditorium
>
> 2 Segregation of its own members:
>
> I am not aware of any segregation but this is of paramount concern to me if
> any member felt so. I would have appreciated if members should have brought
> it to my notice and I could have taken a remedial action. All the members
> with whom I interacted with did not put forth any such feedback. All the
> feedbacks which kept pouring in the last session was very positive.
>
> 3) dearth of volunteers:
> I agree , this could have been better and something to work on in future
>
> 4) the lousy preparation in terms of broadcasting this convention :
>
> I am afraid, I can't take this. Firstly I had not made any promisses on it
> and offered to make an attempt on reaching there. Network fascility was
> indeed arranged but some glitch took place while connecting the laptop to the
> hub which could not be resolved and enough effort could not be done on it due
> to other compelling priorities.
>
> 5) Imbalanced time to speakers:
> I have a contrary take on it. I am in fact happy our programme hostess did
> not allow any session to get choked which usually takes place in such
> presentations and judiously intervened when ever required. Keeping sensitive
> to participants request she also gave an additional slot obliging requests
> made to her. Comming particularly to your session, it was very unfortunat
> that incidently your session got scheduled on the last part of the day and we
> had to clos in as members had to take their journey back. I can assure it was
> not intended and was only incedental.
>
> 6)time management:
> I don't think we fared badly on that as no time was wasted between sessions.
> Things went smoothly and good enough time was given to speakers and Q&A
>
> Finally, a negative feedback from my side which was not reported by anyone:
>
> I did not spend time with participants, I could say only hi and with many I
> could not do even that.
>
> My profound appology on that and I shall not make anyattempt to give any
> excuses. I certainly failed on that, I am aware of it and feel extremely
> guilty about it. All I can ask to be excused and I am confident our members
> shall with a big heart bear with me for any short commings, lapses or
> anything which made them unhappy.
>
> I hope on the positive side this convention proved benificial to some and was
> worth coming over and organising it in the first place.
>
> Yours
> Harish.
