Hi

I don't think rules are any different for private banks from that of
nationalised banks.

Moreover, we've recently succeeded by opening a joint account with
ICICI bank where both the account holders were blind. But even that
was not a cake walk for us and we had to take that to the notice of
ombudsman.

so, same procedure, first write to the higher officials of that bank,
and if things aren't settled, write to the ombudsman.

And I feel it would be better for you if you make it clear to them
that you are going to take it to the ombudsman. May be they would
respond hearing such statement from you.
