The information that I received from the Access mailing list assures the
existence of WF till April 2011 and nothing can be sure after that. It seems
that some companies like Talksnav in UK tried to negotiate with Vadaphone
and they did not succeed. So the present status is that WF is certainly
going down and the question is when. Unless some other institution manages
to buy the software from Vodephoen, the program is not going to survive and
people are already beginning to explore alternatives.

So from these comments there is no possibility of this loadstone solution
being a viable substitute for Wayfinder. It isn't. So besides signing
petitions and so forth, what is being done to attempt preservation of the
service in India and elsewhere? According to the man who wrote last week,
fifty-six of the petition signers are from India. Are they all on this
list? Have any been contacted personally about any plans? Are there any
plans? Dipendra, could you weigh in on this please?

maps to generate output it can use to navigate.
