Nokia maps do have good indian coverage. I have used an earlier version
before WFA came to India.

It seems that Nokia Ovi map is being explored as an alternative. But it
works well only with some latest models like the N86, N97, N96 etc. And I am
not sure about it's coverage in India.

The information that I received from the Access mailing list assures the
existence of WF till April 2011 and nothing can be sure after that. It
seems
that some companies like Talksnav in UK tried to negotiate with
Vadaphone
and they did not succeed. So the present status is that WF is certainly
going down and the question is when. Unless some other institution
manages
to buy the software from Vodephoen, the program is not going to survive
and
people are already beginning to explore alternatives.
