Hi friends,
Prashant, great job as usual. I think we must now concentrate on
getting mainstream technology becoming accessible rather than waiting
for specialized technology. I feel the blindness community is
suffering badly on account of specialized technology which is
exhorbitantly expensive and is not able to change with the changes in
mainstream technology.

The challenge for NGO's and people interested in advocacy is to
convince these technology developers to make their technology
accessible. I know this is easier said than done but then they must
earn their fame and name that they wish to boast. In India, we have
three national organizations that work for the blind and I would urge
upon them to start the ball rolling.

Sadly, this does not appear to be their priority. I would urge those
on the list who belong to these organization to live upto the name and
fame that is claimed and get us more and more accessible technology.

Also, the list members let us also start asking questions of these
organizations. Hope we would have a healthy debate on this topic.
