Hi Kanchan,
Have got the contact number of Anandvan blind school, its in Chandrapur, dont
think so will be able to visit it this time. Will be speaking to them to
apprise them of this meeting.

Yes, the idea of this meeting is to inform and motivate them enough to provoke
their action oriented thoughts. Also meeting and networking with others of
their region who have done well in life would help to sustain their good
morale.
As you said: they do not have a choice but to get trained, even if desired
trainings are not available in the region. One needs to move out wherever it
needs to go, rather than limiting oneself in a state/region.

thanks,

You must visit Anand Van i.e. Baba Amte's place. I will send you the phone
no. of someone working there. I think Rajesh also knows her.
I have been very interested with the work done there. I think they are doing
something really great.

Also please tell all the visually challenged that after the High Court's
recent orders the visually challenged are going to have technology provided
by the State govt at their work place so they have to learn technology
before they go to the jobs. No more excuses of sitting idle and not being
allowed to do anything.

I have been speaking to organisations around Maharashtra about training but
I dont see much interest maybe because of lack of resources. However there
is no choice and the visually challenged will have to get trained.

Also when you speak to people please emphasise on software like NVDA and
Dolphin and not so much on JAWS.

Whoever had this brilliant idea of going to the interiors of Maharshtra in
peak summer is brave.

Good luck to the team.
Kanchan
