Well, I think we can insist on getting at least RTI reply in accessible format,
i.e. in soft copy, instead of hard copy.

if any sign language or braille will be introduced, then it will take more
than 90 days for PIO to reply RTI question. a particular section is to be
add in RTI act and this could only be done by parliament. suppose, if such
provision will be made, then another provision to be made that PIO will hire
a person or will send the document to the recognised institute by which a
braille version can be transcribed in to print.

It is not the question of being frivolous. It is the right of visually
impaired people of this country to exercise their rights vis-à-vis
communication we are comfortable with. Not all visually impaired people of
this country are well versed with computers!!! The state has to recognize
Braille along with sign language (similarly for hearing impaired) in any
form of communication. We well know that the public information officers
are not aware of Braille however, there should be reasonable accommodation
made for translation etc... which should be the states duty.

Best wishes

Praveen
