Answering your second question: because when you recharge online, there are fixed recharge values which you can use, but if you go to retailer etc, you can even recharge with the latest offered value. For example, in Airtel, Rs. 333 444 are the values which you can use online to get the full talktime. But in Mumbai if you go to dealer, you can recharge with 275, 375, 555, 575, 784 or so, and you get the full talktime. Mumbaikars! don't use these recharge values for your connection, this was just to explain! Smilies! -----Original Message----- From: mukesh jain

Subject: Re: [AI] SBI NET BANKING FOR VISUALLY CHALLENGED - SOME DOUBTS-REG

Hello,
Further to this discussion, I would like to know few more things. I do
well understand that these doubts can be sorted out with bank
concerned officials still asking because putting these doubts here can
give me more experienced views from the list members.

My first doubt relates to fund transfer through neft. Once we complete
our transaction via neft there is one page generated by the system in
receipt format witch specifies all the details of credit and debit
account with amount, transaction id etc. there is one option witch
allows the user to take the print out. What if I was unable to print
the page at that time and later if I would like to print the same page
again in the similar format is it available some where?

I do know that by asking the account statement online I can get the
same entries but very often this page as mentioned above can be used
as neft receipt and in most of the submition for recruitment cases,
we need to get signed this neft transaction receipt from bank
authorities.

Secondly, I would also like to know that while using mobile sms
banking, we can recharge the mobile topup. While filling the recharge
amount in prescribed format many times I get the message that
requested amount can not be processed as the denominations asked for
can not be processed your amount will be reversed soon. But when I
recharge with same denominations from the local dealer I am able to
get the same amount recharged. So what may be the reason?

Forwarding this doubt so as to have the experience shared if any by
the list members on my doubts.

Your kind cooperation in this regard would be highly solicited.
Thanks,

My sincere advice will be that do not promote such special products.
Firstly, when the normal e-banking is fully and completely accessible, then
why to go for such special net banking for visually challenged?
Secondly, you can't access various facilities like request for demand draft,
RTGS transfers, (I don't know whether neft is allowed in this product as I
didn't find any information on their FAQ but presuming that it is available
from what sir has said), E-bill payment, opening term deposits online etc.
Further, suppose that for a moment SBI comes with all facilities for this
product, but if there is any new facility introduced in future, then you
again keep shouting at SBI for introducing the same for this portal?
Lastly, don't know whether you or others agree or not, but when I can use
the normal facilities provided reasonable needs such as accessibility in
this case is fullfilled, then why I would go for a special facility? And on the bank's part for introducing accessibility or any other reasonable demand
which we are asking for, they don't have to compromise in their design,
facilities which are being offered to customers, etc. Then why they have
come with such special facility? Just to show that they care for visually
challenged? That too without offering them the facilities which they can
use? Or developers are too laisy in doing 10% efforts extra for introducing
accessibility in their normal products?
Look at that special ATM card of SBI called 'Drishti', which can be used in
normal ATMs also, but lacks in features. Though I have not used it
personally, but based on inputs from others, I know that it also doesn't
offer all facilities which a cardholder gets. Say, funds transfer, mobile
topup, registering for mobile banking, online payment through visa/maistro
portals, request for cheque book, etc. The biggest and the only advantage of that card is that they have got the information in the chip itself that the user needs the talking ATM and enable this feature if it is available. There
could be other ways of doing the same.
@Jaiprakash sir: the above explanation was not for you, as I know that you
are just asking the difference and seeking information on this product. It
was for each and everyone of us.
To answer your question, there is only a single advantage which I find in
this product, which can be well introduced in the actual product itself, is
the feature called 'deadlock switch'. If you have access to this special
product, and if you use alt 0, then your e-banking account gets blocked.
This is to save oneself from physical threats which one might face at a
public place etc, while using this facility.
