Hi,

Though legally speaking, we can pursue engineering, however most of
the institutes in India even today deny admission. There are several
complecations. The examining authorities do not provide appropriate
and reasonable accommodations. I myself have taken Science and am
fighting it out with the examining bodies for accommodations. But as
all of us know insensitivity and lack of awareness is something that
all of us face, and so is in this case. But as Rajesh Sir pointed out,
with sincerity and determination, one can surely take up this
challenge.

BTW, as I pointed out earlier too, the IITs have allowed reasonable
accommodations which include the following:

1. Exemption from figures
2. Facility of scribe (though no details regarding eligibility
conditions etc. have been stipulated)

The AIEEE unfortunately has laid down restrictive conditions, which
are as mentioned:

The scribe will be provided by the centre superintendent and the
candidate will not be allowed to bring in his own scribe. Further, the
scribe will be of class XI (i.e. two educational classes lower than
the candidate), and that too should be studying Humanities or Commerce
without Mathematics.

Now, what is to be noted is that Science is very technical and
involves several symbols, which a person having no familiarity with
Science will be unable to even read out to the candidate. The AIEEE
has also not provided alternate questions to the candidate, giving the
excuse that AIEEE is a competitive exam.

So basically, there are challenges and problems, but if you are
someone who is determined, then you should not shy away from taking up
Science or engineering.

Hope this info helps,
Regards,
-Kartik
