Some like the ICICI Bank provide an extra layer of security for online transactions with the help of an ATM card. When I perform a transfer from my ICICI account, it prompts me for a transaction password first. After successful validation, it presents me a screen with three randomly generated letters between A and P. I need to check the back-side of the ATM card and enter numbers against each of these letters to complete the security check and proceed with the transaction. Maybe this extra security check is not performed on accounts without an ATM card.
