Hi Syed,

Not the best time to be shopping for jewellery, I think. Sky high prices,
although contrary to the prices, everyone is rushing to tuck in the yellow
metal like it is going out of fashion.

Anyway, I have recently been shopping and am afraid, there was no way I
could tell the difference in any metal, real or otherwise. Gold, silver or
any precious or semi precious stones. To the bet of my knowledge, there is
no technology available either. The person you go to and the faith in the
gold guarantee cards they give you is the only answer. The reputed stores
and brands, which are many in number are my best bet. Having said that, any
goldsmith selling you a kdm marked ornament in gold will give you a card to
that effect and you can get the full amount in return for an exchange.
Tanishq is expensive, but the guarantee is in place.

So, go, shop on your own, but ensure you get your guarantee card and that, I
think you can read on your knfb reader or some other such technology.

Happy shopping and hope there's some happy bunny waiting for that piece of
precious metal.

Subject: [AI] Curious - Best Practices for Blind while Shopping for
Jewellery

Hi all

How safe is it for a blind person to shop for the jewellery independently,
more specifically, can we distinguish the genuineness of gold merely by
touch and feel?

Blind lady shoppoholics, what's your take on this?

Can you differentiate the gold-plated jewellery vs, the real gold jewellery
by just touch and feel alone? Lastly, if there is an assistive technology
which allows you to accomplish this, how often would you be using it?

Appreciate it

Syed
