KDM and 916 as far as I understand are standards which are marked on the gold
one buys. These ensure purity and also allow a certification which ensures you
get your money's worth when you buy the gold. When the need to exchange arises,
this certification ensures you get the full balue of the gold as per the day's
price without any deduction, of course the weight also being the factor.

24 carat gold is ppure gold and not ornamental gold which is 22 carat or 18
carat and so on. You can't make ornaments with the pure 24 carat gold because
to fashion ornaments there is an addition of copper required to make it
mouldable. The higher the quantity of copper, the lower the carat weighg of
gold.

This, is my understanding and if someone has something to add or contradict, I
stand corrected and educated.

I am confused by the terms KDM, 24 caret, 916, 99.5 purity and 99.9
purity. Could someone explain, please?
Thanks and regards.
