Though many of the hindi/marathi hard copy documents could be scan and red by
VI their onself why do we needs to be dependant on sighted?

I disagree with this.
Hindi OCR is far from perfect, and is not wholly accessible, nor free...

Subject: Re: [AI] Be Alert while looking for Cyted Assistance at out-door

It is very sad to learn following what happen with my own classmate Amjad,
however flick side is what shall we do? Can we stay without sighted
assistance? No doubt, in last 10 years technology has brought revolution
in our life but how many of VI even today expose to this?
My experience even today for many things which could be done through
technologies VI still taking help of sighted.
Look at the example of paying payment or doing any kind of financial
transaction through on line. Even though many of the banking sides are
accessible, does all the VI use them? Though many of the hindi/marathi
hard copy documents could be scan and red by VI their onself why do we
needs to be dependant on sighted?
I know we can not completely stay without sighted assistance and doing
that would be inviting ourself a ideological world. However, can not we
reduce the dependency?
What stops us doing that???
