Former chief minister of Chhatisgarh Ajeet Jogi became paralyzed after an accident and he still is in active politics.

Anpother friend of mine wants some information on visually impaired or other physically challenged persons in active politics. I know of barrister Sadhan Gupta who was elected MP from Kolkata South in 1967 for CPIM. I also know of Dipankar Roy who contested the election on behalf of SUCI for the assembly seat of Rashbihari Avenue, kolkata in 1991. Though he did not win, he was very famous as an orator and as an organiser. People remember him for his role in the students' movement in the 70s and the 80s.

Can you supply some more information or some good articles on it?
