Many programmers use eclipse as an accessible IDE for writing java code. 3. You only need the accessbridge if you are using the swing API to create a user interface for your program. In terms of accessibility, the best option is to use SWT to create the user interface since SWT uses native methods that is operating system specific methods to render controls.. 4. There is a website for blind programmers. It is http://www.nonvisualdevelopment.org. You will find accessibility related resources for several languages including java.
Finally, people, java does not equal swing. Swing is a set of libraries to create a graphical user interface. You use java in several other contexts such as writing programs for mobile phones, writing servlets on websites etc. Swing and SWT are pc based libraries.
