Subject: Re: [AI] For Ph.D
hi,
its also good if you visit that particular department in whichever
university you go to, and speak to the head of the department, letting
them know that u wish to apply, and your area of research interest.
there you will get all the info u need about the application
procedure, and you can also find out if any particular proff is
interested in that area and would be willing to take u etc. of course
the procedure protocol will have to be followed, but an informal chat
in advance might help u to get to know eachother.
i have never faced such a problem, but i have known of blind students
complaining that some proffs r reluctant to take them because they r
unsure of our capabilities. so it would be great if you can give them
that confidence in you in advance.
then u will have to give an entrance exam for which u could find out
if that department has any previous question papers u could refer to.
so only if u clear the entrance exam, wil u be called for an interview.
then, read at least a couple of books, and a couple of latest research
papers in the area you wish to pursue. write about a page on your
statement of purpose, and what are the exact research questions you're
looking at. dont forget to mention the references in the end. the
books and research papers you have read in that area.
also, write only whatever u are confident about. dont write anything
that u dont understand. because the questions in your interview will
be mainly based on the proposal you have written.
do mail me if you have any other specific questions.
all the best!!!
