m.phil means programme undergone just after postgraduate cource, priliminary
to doctorate, covers upto 2yr, including half to1yr cource on methordology
& thesis prepration. The nxt yr u have to complete your thesis on master
of philosophy, based on topic u opted. ph.d means the doctorate that u can
register after either master degree of choice, or after m.phil. if u r
going ph.d before .phil your ph.d will start with cource scheduled. Ph.d
doctor of philosophy. nowadays integrated ph.d programme is offered in which
u will get an m.phil degree after 2,3yr followed by ph.d in 5thyr, if u
complete your open defence, or atleast thesis submition. if u r doing it as
part time, the period may b extended. but asper the latest ugc. Guidelines
1yr cource is compulsary for all.
