if u have to upgraded u go for windows 8.1 if u have 4 gb or more of ram and if you have 64 bit drivers for all the hardwares of your pc u can go for 64 bit as most of 32 bit drivers dont work on 64 bit as 64 bit windows requires driver signing. so if u want a nice fast computer opperation go for windows 8.1 all the softwares that work on windows 7 work on windows 8.1
