One more query.
I had purchased my PC 10 years back and at that time there was only 32 bit
windows
Can same mother board be used for 64 bit windows or I will have to buy a new
one ?

Hi.
You can go for any of the two versions you mentioned i.e. 7 & 8.
If you have more than 4 gb of RAM and all the drivers compatible with
64 bit go for 64 bit, otherwise no point going for 64 bit instead of
32 bit.
