Hi, I can say I'm in the penultimate stage of blindness due to RP. I could cope with the condition at every stage with appropriate adjustments and adaptations. These range from stopping riding a cycle and walking, reading with eye glasses to magnifying glasses, using screen readers, etc. The latest in this series is learning mobility with white cane just a few months ago.
Let me tell you how I take RP. I was prepared for blindness right at the moment I came to know about my condition. What ever vision i have is bonus from god. I am open to any lifestyle changes warranted by RP. I hope some treatment comes through. Otherwise, I'm ok living with blindness throughout this life. I'm neither the only person nor the first person to become blind. So many blind people are living life with dignity and enjoyment. Why can't I?
