KOCHI:A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Monday upheld a Single Bench order directing the Kannur University to consider Prasanna Kumary, a visually impaired woman, for appointment as Lecturer in Law. The Bench comprising Justice Antony Dominic and Justice Shaji P Chaly passed the order while dismissing an appeal filed by the Kannur University, challenging the Single Judge order. The court also dismissed an appeal filed by Kavitha Balakrishnan of Kozhikode, challenging the Single Bench order declaring her appointment illegal.Prasanna Kumary of Chottanikkara had applied for the post of Lecturer in Law, under the reservation quota for physically handicapped persons, as per a notification issued by the Kannur University on November 29, 2008.
