The www4mail server in Italy will return the Lycos Italian site. No
doubt there is a "glitch" in their logic because the Lycos Italian site
is http://www.lycos.it/

Try the other ww4mail servers...

On Help-Net, I receive huge amounts of bounced back messages from various
Cuban addresses, I ignore it, as I see that many of the people from which
their addresses generate bounces, are posting and receiving messages from
the list.

The first difference is in intended function: A forwarder is used as a
single address that can be used without change when your real address
changes. The others that you list are all intended for sending anonymous
mail.

The easiest way to do it for a small list is to install an
email client with good filtering functions. Pegasus 3
includes everything you need to run either an announcements
list, or an email discussion group with automated subscribe/
unsubscribe, forwarding, archiving, etc. You must program
the filter yourself, but you have total control over the way
the list works - because it all happens on your hard disk.

If you have occasional WWW access, you could sign up for one
of the web-based mailing list servers, eg: OneList
(http://www.onelist.com), eGroups (http://www.egroups.com),
ListBot (http://www.listbot.com). They all work very well,
but you can't sign up using ACCMail methods.

A much better alternative is the free Majordomo service
offered by Crosswinds. You can get the signup form using
WWW4Mail. Send this message ...

 XURLCODE
 http://home.crosswinds.net/majordomo/sign-up.shtml

Would someone try it with GetWeb, and report back to
ACCmail on success or failure?

Majordomo is more versatile than the web-based MLMs, but
less easy to use. You would definitely need to read some
documentation before getting started.

Here is a list of Majordomo links -

Before you do anything - think your project through.
Why do you want a mailing list? Who is it for?
How will potential subscribers find you? Etc?

1: Try to use a more meaningful subject.

2: In the context of this list, a "mirror site" is a site that carries a
copy (mirror) of another site. A common example is simtelnet, that has
LOTS of mirrors of its FTP site.

It appears that LYCOS is automatically redirecting via HTML servers from
the .it (Italian) domain to thier Italian site. Apparently they expect
that you should use http://www-english.lycos.com for the English version.

I lost my digest reader by accident. Anybody know where could I have the
digest program? It's really crazy I forgot the site from which I downloaded
the program :-(

I interested in "random dot" or 3D picture. Where can I find a mailing list
or www sites about it?

Oh yes. I updated my stored queries (so far no letters, but it
could be no hits). And some non-stored queries were completed.
But one of non-stored queries gave me three times:

It's not a fault, it's a feature :).
The feature is that web searchers like lycos have nationalized editions,
and the WWW server watch the address domain of who is making a request
on their server. Since you are using www4mail, and one of the www4
servers in in italy, I suppose you are originating a request using an
italian www4 site, so
targetting the Lycos to send you the italian version.
To solve the problem, simply use an american/english originated www4mail
server, like [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
the like.
