This isn't, of course, necessarily a permanent condition. It's my opinion
that this policy could be changed given a modicum of effective argument.
However, my understanding is that it's a decision for the SatelLife board
to make.
Please note that this situation isn't a blanket condition. Many domains can
use the getweb server currently, and if you're a healthcare professional,
you can request the use of the service regardless of your domain under the
current policy.
> Jeez, even I am now excluded when I was personally included.
FWIW, I'm going to ask about this. The letter you forwarded to me would
indicate that you should have access. I just need to confirm this with
those who decide these things locally.
> The poor E-mail only user get the shafts again. I'm really get tired of

The rest of the world can use SatelLife/Healthnet services if they're
are involved with healthcare, in general. I'm sure that Leela, mentioned
below, can explain our rationalle and policy for anyone who is curious
and who thinks they may be able to benefit from getweb services.

This (which I wrote earlier today) applies to anyone who wants access,
incidentally. Write, tell us who you are and what you do, and tell us
that you desire access, assuming, again, that you're a healthcare
professional.

Subject: Re: Get Selected Documents - Blank Message (was <No subject given >)
The default 'Get selected Document(s)' attachment from any of the www4mail
servers tend to be incompatible with certain web browsers and/or e-mail
programs. However, if you were to peruse the help documentation (by sending
a message with 'help' in the body to your www4mail server of choice - highly
recommended) you should've noticed the following:
: XBYJS (use one option line only!)
: Some Web browsers are not capable of transmitting data by e-mail,
: e.g., MS-IE v3.0. This problem usually shows up after you check
: the links that you would like to retrieve and select the "Get
: Selected Document(s)" button. What you get is that your mail
: program opens a new message with the address of the www4mail server
: appearing and the body of the message blank. You can use the XBYJS
: option to work-around this problem provided you are using a
: JavaScript compatible browser. Note: This work-around tries to fill
: in the Subject: line automatically instead of the message body
: needed by www4mail. But if you notice that the Subject: line is
: blank, you will need to cut out all characters starting from the ?
: sign in the To: field and paste them in the Subject: line manually.
If that doesn't work, the alternative would be to grab the text version of
the page ( GET http://www.somepage.dom/ ), find the address for whichever
link you're trying to jump to, and build your request manually.
Hope this was of assistance.

Subject: Newbie needs help
Hi all,
I'm new to this www by e-mail thing and I need some questions answered.
1) Earlier today I tried to get some internet pages and I still haven't
got anything about them. I sent my message to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and in the body I put:
www
send (the address of the page)
What am I doing wrong? Should I try a different address?
2) The next question I have is how do I get files from ftp so I can use
the uudecode? (I have already got the decoder program successfully.)
3) Lastly, how do I get newsgroups via e-mail?
I tried to follow the instructions best I could that I got from the
rtfm.mit.edu address, but I just am kind of confused on these things.
Thanks,
Matt Bahls

These lines sound rather pessimistic. But they are not objective. The
computer world has expanded, is expanding, and will expand more and more
in the future. Although computers may be used merely for entertainment
or just mouse-clicking and performing actions without knowing what is
happening inside, I am sure, without statistics, that more and more
people are concerned with programming and computing history.
We, ACCmailers, do appreciate your efforts, Gerry. We want you to cheer
up, be optimistic, and continue teaching us how to access Internet by
e-mail methods.

This server has been defunct since Dec97. You must be new (:>)
The latest listing of active servers is always at:
http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/1236/servers.html
The only active Agora servers are:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] (same site)

See http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/1236/howto2.html
Simple way to get them all. Use the UK agora and just add
howto1
howto2
howto3
servers
in the body of the message (no URLs required!)

Your cousin should think more carefully
how he names files
