What I'd like to know is (if it's even possible) for
http://www.netaddress.usa.net to be cracked by email. They just made POP3
access a "premium" service at $12/year and with my slow-as-molasses computer,
it takes FOREVER to access and process the mail from my account there.

Hy everybody .

I'm doing some inquiries about cds composition. As far as I know cds
are made of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), H~2C=CHCl, they also do have a
layer of aluminiom and
lacquer. I need to know what other materials the cds are made of.
Information regarding proportion between materials would be useful. A
drawing with the layers would be convenient .

If any person could give me a clue ( a web site could be useful or any
other mail list where this topic is discussed ) I'll be grateful .

Thanks.

Hello all,

I have a few Interbot service files for:

and others.

If any one wants to get them and share ones that
they have written: send mail by 2359 PDT Wed May

I will then send out a couple of files to all

everybody gets them.

Please send any comments to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello Accmailers,

Anyone who has successfull expericence with CWEBMAIL.EXE?

It should enable us to use HOTMAIL or YAHOO accounts as POP3-mail
accounts. I use Outlook Express, it dials up, but is not able to connect to
the server hotmail.cwebmail.com nor yahoo.cwebmail.com.

A pity, because cwebmail could possibly enable ACCMAILERS to retrieve
their Hotmail account.

CWEBMAIL was downloaded 488.000 times. (www.download.com)
There must be users that use it successfully! So please tell us.

Few months ago I found a server on the net that let me search domain name

ie. I search for domain name servers matching the word "ftpsearch" and it
returns a list like this:

-- ftpsearch.lycos.com

Does someone know what Im talking about?

Please tell me just what you know about this and if you know some other

The program name is AvirMail, it is only a pop watch, not a mail program.

It is free. It gives you the headers at time you set up.

Is there a reason why Uganda was skipped?

Easiest method to find a site is to guess a .com domain name. Because
you want the Canada site I would guess com.ca. So let's try
http://www.motorola.com.ca/
Bingo this address resolves to http://www.mot.ca/

For the US site, just use http://www.mot.com/ without the CA
Click on "Products and Services" at the bottom of the page
Then click on SM56 Software modems
Then click on E-mail

Or try you own search

I found a French site with a web page in Englsih that does this for you
http://www.presenceweb.com/anglais/engine.html

Search on the domain name : ftpsearch

          - 5 similar domain name have been found -

          ftpsearch.com
               Pro Distribution (FTPSEARCH2-DOM)
               http://www.ftpsearch.com

          ftpsearch.net
               http://www.ftpsearch.net

          ftpsearch.org
               http://www.ftpsearch.org

          ftp-search.net
               Pro Distribution (FTP-SEARCH2-DOM)
               http://www.ftp-search.net

          ftp-search.com
               Pro Distribution (FTP-SEARCH-DOM)
               http://www.ftp-search.com

You can retrieve the web page with a www4mail server and try to "carck"
the search.

or you can try agora with a string like this for a US search:
send http://www.presenceweb.com/cgi-bin/cgimoteur.ang?nbhits=10\
&objet=[domain name to search for]&extension=etats-unis\
&bouton_search.x=139&bouton_search.y=35

For a world-wide search try this:
send http://www.presenceweb.com/cgi-bin/cgimoteur.ang?nbhits=10\
&objet=[domain name to search for]&extension=mondiale

Search on the domain name : ftpsearch

          - 8 similar domain name have been found -

          ftpsearch.com
               Pro Distribution (FTPSEARCH2-DOM)
               http://www.ftpsearch.com

          ftpsearch.de
               Step Computer- und Datentechnik GmbH
               http://www.ftpsearch.de

          ftpsearch.net
               http://www.ftpsearch.net

          ftpsearch.org
               http://www.ftpsearch.org

          ftpsearch.fr
               http://www.ftpsearch.fr

          ftpsearch.ru
               http://www.ftpsearch.ru

          ftp-search.net
               Pro Distribution (FTP-SEARCH2-DOM)
               http://www.ftp-search.net

          ftp-search.com
               Pro Distribution (FTP-SEARCH-DOM)
               http://www.ftp-search.com

AltaVista will do somewhat the same thing (except you have plenty of
duplicates) if you use the constrained search technique "host:domain"

>2) Is there any TeX2pdf converter (by email) ?

Creating PDF Files from TeX
If you've created an Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) file
from a TeX document, you may have been disappointed with the results -
by default, most versions of TeX produce PostScript files with embedded
bitmapped fonts. Although Adobe's Acrobat Distiller can convert these
PostScript files into PDF, the resolution-specific bitmapped fonts
create a PDF file that looks displays poorly and renders slowly on
screen.
To create a PostScript file from TeX that can be converted into an
optimal PDF file, you need to create a PostScript file that uses
scalable Type 1 fonts rather than resolution-specific bitmapped fonts.

Using Type 1 fonts with TeX is easy if you have the original TeX source
or DVI file. For instructions on configuring Tomas Rokicki's popular
DVIPS program to use Type 1 fonts, see "Configuring DVIPS to Use Type 1
Fonts," below.

The situation is more difficult if your only electronic version of a
document is a PostScript file that already contains embedded bitmapped
fonts.

PostScript files created by DVIPS are particularly problematic since
the code for the embedded fonts is interspersed throughout the file as
each new character is typeset. To further complicate the situation the
names of the original fonts have been replaced by arbitrary identifiers.

The FixFont utility attempts to solve this problem by removing the
embedded bitmapped fonts from the PostScript file and creating a new
PostScript file that can be used with scalable, Type 1 outline fonts.

Configuring DVIPS to Use Type 1 Fonts

When you have the original TeX source or DVI file the easiest and most
reliable way to create a portable PostScript file is to configure your
DVI to PostScript driver to use Type 1 versions of the Computer Modern
fonts.

The following Technical Note describes how to configure Tomas Rokicki's
DVIPS to create a PostScript file that uses Type 1 outline fonts.

Creating Quality Adobe PDF Files from TeX with DVIPS
Adobe FaxYI Document Number: 131303
Update 96 JUN 27: The recent demise of the CTAN Web interface at
http://jasper.ora.com/CTAN/tex-archive/ renders the URLs to this site
included in this Technical Note invalid. All the software listed is
still available through the mirrored ftp sites that participate in the
Comprehensive TeX Archive Network. A list of these sites is currently
available at http://www.cdrom.com/pub/tex/ctan/CTAN.sites

Although the location of the top of the TeX archive varies according to
site, the file structure is consistent within the archive. To locate a
specific CTAN resource mentioned in the Technical Note, replace
http://jasper.ora.com/CTAN/tex-archive/ in the URL with ftp:// followed
by the host name and path to the initial directory for that site's TeX
archive.

Excerpt from their web site: http://www.cwebmail.com/

How POP3 Access to Free Web Mail works:

When you log into Free Web Mail at www.Hotmail.com or
mail.yahoo.com, you are on-line and connected to the Internet
the whole time you are reading and composing email.
C-WebMail for Free Web Mail POP3 Access allows you to
download messages to your computer using a commercially
available Email package that supports the Post Office Protocol
(POP3) e.g. - Netscape, Eudora, MS Outlook Express etc. . After
you have sent or received messages, you can terminate the
Internet connection. This lets you read and compose messages
while off-line. You only need to connect to the Internet when
receiving or sending new messages.

To take advantage of this service, you must have a POP3
compliant piece of email software. Fortunately, a POP3 email
application is typically integrated into your web browser so you
probably have the email software you need. Popular software
packages that can be used with POP3 Access to Hotmail or
Yahoo Mail include: Microsoft (Outlook, Outlook Express),
Netscape (Mail, Communicator), and Qualcomm (Eudora Light,
Eudora Pro).
[snip]

The settings are supposed to be:
Hotmail POP -- pop.hotmail.cwebmail.com
Hotmail SMTP -- smtp.hotmail.cwebmail.com
Yahoo POP -- pop.yahoo.cwebmail.com
Yahoo SMTP -- smtp.yahoo.cwebmail.com

CD-Recordable FAQ
http://www.fadden.com/cdrfaq/

Your basic CD-R is layered like this, from top to bottom:

     [optional] label
     [optional] scratch-resistant and/or printable coating
     UV-cured lacquer
Reflective layer (24K gold or a silver-colored alloy)
     Organic polymer dye
Polycarbonate substrate (the clear plastic part)
The construction of a CD-RW is different:

     [optional] label
     [optional] scratch-resistant and/or printable coating
     UV-cured lacquer
     Reflective layer
     Upper dielectric layer
Recording layer (the part that changes form)
     Lower dielectric layer
Polycarbonate substrate (the clear plastic part)

I agree wholeheartedly with Netmiser. While people shouldn't abuse
accmail services, even people with full Internet access can find them
useful. I myself have full Internet access, for instance, but I feel the
advantages of accmail, such as the ability to request many web pages at
once, the ability to get text-only pages easily, and the plain fun of
accmail make it well worth saving.

Gerry, I read the message and it didn't address my concern. My email client
(Pegasus Mail) was configured just fine for USA.NET. The problem is that now
they want the LONG GREEN before they'll let you access it in that manner. The
only FREE way to get USA.NET mail now is via browser. My machine at home is
(temporarily) a 386DX/40, which makes browser-based mail SLOOOOOOOW.

I tried to get the last of my son's email on May 2 before the blocking went
into place, but I was too late. There were only about a dozen messages
online, but it still took me over an hour to get each one forwarded to his
newer free POP3 account (my brother works for an ISP and he set up a mailbox
for my son) and deleted from USA.NET.

What I'd like to see (if it can be done) is for someone to set up one of
those long convoluted strings to send to a wwwmail server and just grab the
mail. May not be possible, but it'd sure be nice!

This is a bug in the way Listserv makes the statistics.
Listserv assumes NET ORG and COM to be US domain, while they are
international.
