Subject: roundabout access to www4

is it possible to send one's requests
to the www4mail servers etc
through another email address,
avoiding firewalls at one's home server?

i am imagining a service that allows one to
send it an email with another address in the sub,
and have it automatically forwarded
to that address, with the return address
of the forwarded message being the original sender

You can use PGPdisk, go to http://www.pgpi.com and download it.

If you are using linux/unix chmod 700 folder.

May you live long and spamless,

I think this problem with [EMAIL PROTECTED] may happen because of
several reasons:
1) sanctions againgst Cuba,
2) mail.sld.cu closed connections to www4mail,
3) you don't exist.

The solutions:
1) connect with www4mail via some free e-mai server:
you - mail.sld.cu - free e-mail server - www4mail,
2) use other free smtp server (not mail.sld.cu).

Please, tell us (accmailers) if you have success.

Dear Mr. Boyd,

Yes, there is misspelling, but not in my original e-mail to download slave.
Also this was just one of the URL's I have tried. I even tried their own
homepage addresses.

This site has *NOT* been working properly since a crash in Oct 1998. I
think it probably belongs in the DEFUNCT category. The web page
interface doesn't work either.

It's there you just didn't get the wsintro.faq to see all the others:
===================================
W W W S E A R C H E N G I N E S
===================================

If your question has something to do with www-search engines
like Altavista, Hotbot, etc, or in general fill-out-forms on WWW sites,
be sure to read "Accessing the Internet via email - User guide to WWW
search engines" by Gerald E. Boyd.

This faq covers the access to all major search-engines, there is a
document with all available help-files (wshelp.faq) and also a document
that how to "crack" such a form yourself (wscrack.faq).

Send a message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] and in the body of the message
use the following:

send ftp://ftp.netcom.com/pub/gb/gboyd/wsintro.faq
send ftp://ftp.netcom.com/pub/gb/gboyd/wshelp.faq
send ftp://ftp.netcom.com/pub/gb/gboyd/wscrack.faq

I'm revising this, the wshelp.faq is no longer there but the others are.

The nym.alias.net server allows you to send and receive e-mail
pseudonymously through a username of your choice on nym.alias.net. If,
for instance, you choose username <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, you
will be able to send and receive e-mail at that address, and even get
fingered at that address.

To learn about this and get the hekp file, send email To:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
with help in the body of the message.

NOTE: I received a message from a user today about this site:

I hope this is just a weekend problem, not a permanent condition.

Another good list updated last on 02Jul99
Rob's News Service
http://www.freenntp.com/complete.htm

The free ones listed here contain 10,000 - 20,000 newsgroups.

Shows which sites can be read or posted to.

I'm seriously beginning to wonder if anybody reads any of the postings
to this list.

On 03Jul99 I sent out another copy of the subscription notice that is
sent to all subscribers when they first join the list. All of this is
explained in the message you received when you joined the list. You did
save it didn't you?

Excerpt from that subscription notice:

You can also tell LISTSERV how you want it
to confirm the receipt of messages you send to the list. If you do not
trust the system, send a "SET ACCMAIL REPRO" command and LISTSERV will
send you a copy of your own messages, so that you can see that the
message was distributed and did not get damaged on the way. After a while
you may find that this is getting annoying, especially if your mail
program does not tell you that the message is from you when it informs
you that new mail has arrived from ACCMAIL. If you send a "SET ACCMAIL
ACK NOREPRO" command, LISTSERV will mail you a short acknowledgement
instead, which will look different in your mailbox directory. With most
mail programs you will know immediately that this is an acknowledgement
you can read later. Finally, you can turn off acknowledgements completely
with "SET ACCMAIL NOACK NOREPRO".

If I understood correctly the whole thread:

In any case it is decided to include those stats in the list, we can set
them to another Accmail topic, so that people who do not wish to receive
them (and of course, who also know how to handle Listserv's Topics) can
exclude them. Due to the fact that many people are not aware of the Topics
option, it may not be so worthy, but I think that it is still better than
not seperating them as a different topic.
