It is intended to be access permissions on a unix type system. While you are unlikely to need this: 0=none 1=Execute 2=write 3=write & execute 4=read 5=read & execute 6=read & write 7=all The first digit is for the owner, the second is others in the same group, and the last is for others. Encoders NOT on unix systems tend to use different values. MAC encoders tend to use 777, most MS-Dos use 644, some 666, some actually will use 444 or 555 if the original file is read-only. -- | [EMAIL PROTECTED] Jerel. --- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Jul 1999 12:36:59 +0200 From: Sciarra Francesco <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Mailing List in Europe Hi, Where can I find European mailing lists? regards fraNcesco ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Jul 1999 16:44:22 +0800 From: "Richard Glenn R. This sounds like an example of that. When the DNS fails, you can't get to another system by name, only by number. If the system at the other end is having a similar problem, you will not get the answers, even if it got your message. There have been an unusually high number of DNS faults in the past two months or so, and they have been unusually global in nature too. As for an ISP loosing "some" mail, us juno.com users know about size limits placed by some ISP's, sometimes reduced without warning. Large digests and web pages can be a problem for us. -- | [EMAIL PROTECTED] Jerel. --- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Jul 1999 14:58:23 +0300 From: AdiM <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: Source codes for tar.gz files You should download and use WinZip 7.0. This size is not the field length. If the field length has a maximum size, then the word MAXLENGTH= is used. The SIZE=Specifies the width of the control. The width is given in pixels except when type attribute has the value "text" or "password". In that case, its value refers to the (integer) number of characters. So, in this case, the box is wide enough on screen to show 18 characters but you can just keep typing and they move to the left. If it is was a list box, then the SIZE= specifies the number of rows in the list that should be visible at the same time. -- Gerry Boyd -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Jul 1999 13:10:20 -0700 From: "Gerald E.
