Try again and hope. Other than than, find another site that carries the
same newsgroup.
I have no recommendations...

The above is the key to why you are receiving mail the way you are.
Base64 is a form of MIME encoding. Either you requested the file in
MIME format or the sender is sending it to you in MIME format. Check
your mail program to see if you have MIME encoding turned off. To learn
how to do this see:
http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/1236/nomime.html

Make sure you understand how to use the server that you are requesting
files from. Use the commands that send uuencoded files or plain ASCII
text rather than MIME. If you wish to receive MIME then use a mail
program that supports MIME decoding or get a separate MIME decoding
program to decode the MIME messages.

Try this dictionary (_Oxford_, 1998). Using '*sch*'
should give you everything--'*sch' and 'sch*' also work.
http://ukdb.web.aol.com/plweb-cgi/fastweb?searchform+view8

But English words starting with 'sch' aren't necessarily
of German origin. Most often they come from Greek
(sometimes via Latin); or from Yiddish, Italian, Flemish,
Dutch, and of course German.

p.s. The OED is a good online dictionary, often giving examples.
