I need the instructions for the uudecode.exe program which
I have installed, for decoding files received through email
Lost the separate help file for this program. What is needed
to know; can this be used to decode other files, such as:
bitmaps, doc. gif, jpeg etc. besides creating exe. programs

Subject: WHERE TO DOWNLOAD IT FROM{ Re : Foxmail]
X-mailer: FoxMail 2.1 [en]
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

In reply to your question on ACCMAIL [RE:FOXMAIL thread];

Hi Subramanian:-)

Of course I will tell you where and how to download FoxMail:

First of all, please make sure your email client is set to "text only" (text/plain;
charset=us-
ascii)....servers hate html messages....

Ok...next step, send the following email to:

TO:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

SUJECT: FOXMAIL v3 BETA: (fm30b1.zip)

BODY:

OPEN ftp.ncu.edu.tw
cd /cpatch/email/foxmail/source
CHUNKSIZE 0
DIR
BINARY
CHUNKSIZE 0
GET fm30b1.zip
QUIT
CLOSE

--

Please note that Bitftp servers and ftp servers in general ARE CASE SENSITIVE! So,
to avoid
any case/spelling errors, I would advise that you simply "cut and paste" the above
"body
segment" onto your own email, thus:

-------cut here-------
OPEN ftp.ncu.edu.tw
cd /cpatch/email/foxmail/source
CHUNKSIZE 0
DIR
BINARY
CHUNKSIZE 0
GET fm30b1.zip
QUIT
CLOSE

----cut here----------

Then simply 'drop' and paste it onto the body portion of your email ...

Thats it....

You will receive a reply in uuencoded format...if you do not have any experience
decoding , just
ask again and any number of ACCMAILERS will be glad to explain the procedure.....

Ah yes, ONE MORE THING...I have tried (unsuccessfully) to obtain translated Help files
for Beta
version 3.0.0.0 because the originals are in CHINESE! The Installation wizard
instructions and
dialog boxes are also in chinese...so if you want to avoid this obstacle, I would
STRONGLY
suggest INSTEAD that you download FoxMail version 2.1, which, imho (in my humble
opinion) is
better anyway..., and ALL the installation dialog boxes and help files are **IN
ENGLISH**.

To obtain FoxMail v2.1 send email:

TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

SUBJECT: FoxMail v.2.1 (fm21eg.zip)

BODY:

OPEN ftp.ncu.edu.tw
cd /cpatch/email/foxmail/source
CHUNKSIZE 0
DIR
BINARY
CHUNKSIZE 0
GET fm21eg.zip
QUIT
CLOSE

--

Again, don't forget to "cut and paste" the above body section onto your email...

hth (Hope this helps) :-))

PS: If you examine the message headers closely, You will note I am now using FoxMail
2.1 [en]
INSTEAD of FoxMail 3.0 beta 1.

Three or more bounces from your address will cause you to be
unsubscribed..
