Subject: joining files splitted by www4mail servers
It is not the first time it happens!
I receive a file, in this case a movie, that one of the WWW4mail servers
has splitted in 200K segments. But their order is not right!
How can I join it back, using the "copy/b 1+2+3 ..." command, when I don't
know for sure which of the parts is the first, which the second, etc?
Look:
Odyssey1_mov.004.mov 60,623 07-06-99 11:20p
Odyssey1_mov.002.mov 204,800 07-06-99 11:23p
Odyssey1_mov.003.mov 204,800 07-06-99 11:24p
Odyssey1_mov.001.mov 204,800 07-06-99 11:22p
Part 001 should have been the first. But the time, 11:22, puts it in the
middle.
Part 004 is supposed to be the last one, fact confirmed by its size - only
60K, it is what remained after slicing the original file in 200K segments.
but 004 was received the first, at 11:20! What should I do?
Ma. Cri.

I'm using GIGO for my uucp FEED. It translates all the newsgroups and Email I
get to Fidonet message base. GiGo can be fetched at http://www.gigo.com.
With greetings ... Jack Raats
PS. GiGo is FREEWARE and so all fidonet software (mostly)

Subject: Excellent Idea...!!MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD ABOUT LISZTER!!! [Re:
Problems with servers]
Hi Accmailers :-)
Gerald Boyd (:>) recently said: "Maybe if they get 2500 pieces of mail
they will re-institute the service...":
YES!! I think it is an excellent idea... as usual, Mr. Boyd's (:>) ideas
are right on target....
You can count me in... I WILL MOST CERTAINLY send a similar message to
the one proposed by Mr. Boyd (:>)...
It's about time we ACCMAILERS made ourselves heard...if this terrible
attrition rate keeps up, pretty soon we won't be able to use any ACCMAIL
methods because there simply **WON'T** be any servers left...
And we won't have anyone else to blame but ourselves.....
It would be a pity to loose such a helpful service as the one provided by
liszter...an absolute shame...
Today liszter...Tomorrow ??
Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease...let's start making some noise
already...there IS strength in numbers...
make your voice heard about liszter !!MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD ABOUT LISZTER!!!
And if this strategy doesn't work, we can 'put or heads together' and begin
devising other ways to solve this problem...there are plenty of intelligent
people on this list...we should be able to find the solution...
One question:
What are the proper addresses in the case of, say..., liszter?
Whom should I email? Are these the ONLY addresses:
>To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
>cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
>cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
>
ttfn
H.Barcena
PS. I would be great if someone on the list could redact a "form" or
template message that we could ALL use; remember that not all ACCMAILER'S
native language is English.

Time-stamps have nothing to do with it. Just follow the order numbers
of the parts.
