Subject: Logging into Yahoo and other mail accounts

Dear Sethu

Thanks for submitting your research paper on logging into Internet Mail
Accounts using ACCmail methods !!!.

Why do these mail servers use cookies at all ? These are restricting our
access to mail resources and also flooding up the www4 servers. These are
so unfriendly to ACCmail methods to harness the unlimited resources of the
Internet. Not only Yahoo but almost all the mail servers have these
cookies in them. The result being, we cannot have a Internet Mail account
and access it offline.

These servers also do not have a forward facility in them so that we can
forward incoming mails to our existing e-mail accounts. Does anyone of you
know any one Internet Mail Server which offers free e-mail service and also
has a forward facility in it ?

Some days back a friend from our list had written that sites unfriendly of
ACCmail methods need to be contacted and requested that these sites to be
made ACCmail friendly. Will or Can Yahoo Inc., do that ? Can Mail
servers work without cookies ?

Thanks
Azeem.

Subject: (pas d'objet)

Hello,

I'd like to be able to create a WEB page from my E-mail. Should it be
possible ? And if it YES, what's the procedure to follow ? Are there any
specific codes to create this one like visual basic application for
EXCEL97.
My internet provider gave a 50 Mo of memory to me.

Best regards

Use a www4mail server and the TEXT (E-MAIL only) MODE

In this mode all interation is by e-mail. Your initial
request for the URL, should have the XFORMREPLY = TEXT
entry. See help xformreply

Example
XFORMREPLY = TEXT
http://www.yahoo.com

The above example generates the reply shown at the bottom of
this document

The reply is in 3 separate parts:

 * A TEMPLATE SECTION
 * TEXT DUMP OF THE URL (showing locations of Form variables)
 * A KEY explaining the various FORM variables.

In order to use this effectively, it is necessary to
1. check the location of the variable in the TEXT DUMP section.
(in the example, the variable named p is to be filled
in with the user data, notice it appears just before
        the ________________________ ).

2. Cut the particular form template to a new e-mail page

3. Filling the data against the variable

4. Send the template back to www4mail

Subject: Re: changes at onelist

Since it was I not Lena
who first raised this
let me set the record strait
since there may be others effected.

Onelist have something called "Personal Preferences"
which are subscriber-specific
not list-specific.

One of these to accept HTML mail
or text-only mail.

If you subscribe to a list via email you are atomically
set to the text-only option.

If you subscribe via the web
then you are automatically set to HTML mail.

Some weeks ago onelist made a change in the way
they send out list messages
or it may be that they only changed it for those
who hadn't had either option set, I'm not sure.

I had joined this particular list by asking the list-owner
to subscribe me.
Onelist changed me to HTML setting all of a sudden.

It is thanks to Jerel that I learnt about the settings.

I had to go to the web interface and change my settings
to text-only. The changes couldn't be made by email.
As I do have internet access I was able to change my
settings, although I had to make two attempts
as the first time I failed to "Save changes".

If anyone else finds themselves in this situation
but has no internet connection
my suggestion would be to ask the list-owner to
unsubscribe them
and then to subscribe to the list via email.

Many list-owners are ignorant of the email methods
of subscribing to lists so may need to be educated.

You can do it with a Perl program called txt2html.
txt2html is a Perl program that converts plain text to HTML.

It supports headings, lists, simple character markup, and hyperlinking,
and is highly customizable. It recognizes some of the apparent
structure of the source document (mostly whitespace and typographic
layout), and attempts to mark that structure explicitly using HTML.

BTW, I found an interesting free Windows Perl program for those that
might be interested in playing with Perl but don't use Unix/Linux.

The ActivePerl Package is the most significant and exciting advance in
Perl on Win32 platforms since version 5 was first released. Remember
the days of "which port are you using" and "does this module support
this port"? Well, those days are gone with the 8088! This is the
long-awaited "merge" of the two popular Perl ports, and has the
absolute best of both plus more! And, ActivePerl is FREE!

Subject: where to find a freeware image maker for making button gifs

Hy accmailers,

I need to make some images for my page. They should be buttons, special text
info. I think I need a tool (BTW small and freeware) for doing that. Do you
happen to know where I can find information about such a tool?

Thanks.
