When getting the password first, there is the INFO.TXT file in German
language as attachment. That file was translated into english by two
persons and both were posted to this list during this year. From the
translation by Kai Schindelka, under the section "4. Frequently answered
questions (FAQ)" let me quote couple of Q & As :
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Q: When I am using the UrlRequester 2.0X I am getting the error
message "Unhandled State of Exception: Read-Error 6, The access
number is undefined". [Transcribed word by word, I am no PC user -
Translator's comment]
A: This problem arises for some people who have an T-Online account.
[A German ISP - Translator's comment]
Try to build up an Internet connection via the communications
network with the original Microsoft Winsock Dlls (the UrlRequester
has also been tested with it).
Q: I have the UrlRequester 2.0X. When I try to send a request, it
seems absolutely nothing is coming trough.
A: Since version 2 requests are sent directly to Downloadslave, mails
are not sent any more. (Exception: The request of a password.) For
it's functionality UrlRequester needs access via the ports 1500
and 1504. So, if you are 'sitting' behind a Firewall (resp. Proxy)
please check if these ports are let through.

So, UrlRequester's functionality requires full internet connection; and we
can see that it is only a partial ACCMAIL technique, as only the reply for
URL requestes would come back as e mail.
Anyway without internet access, you do have ACCMAIL functionality through
the mail gateway of Downloadslave (as you have already found by downloading
some URLs) - and until that functionality is continued to be provided, we
cannot claim any unfairness, can we ?
The last reposting of the two english translations for INFO.TXT were in
June '99 - posting number: 2389 for that of Kai Schindelka and posting
number: 2410 for that by David Kramer. To get one or both of these, you can
use the "GETPOST ACCMAIL ... .... " command syntax that Gerry discussed
recently on 21st and 22nd October.

I believe it has to do with the ads Downloadslave uses...
