An Ubuntu bug
(https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.15/+bug/43961) is
linked to this bug but I don't see any reference here to the Ubuntu bug.
It's occurring on both Ubuntu Dapper and Edgy and affects numerous people, from
laptops to desktops and even possibly a server. There are several other Ubuntu
bugs logged on this issue, marked as duplicates and linked off the bug I
referenced.
Hopefully this will give some additional data points and users who can provide
debug information.
It occurs on my Sony Vaio VGN-S460 (a.k.a. PCG-6G4L) which can reboot but not
shut down.
