In 6.06.1 everything worked ok until I did an update to 6.10. That's when the problem described here started. And after a failed shutdown, it fails to boot the GDM, showing nothing but the black screen. Then I installed 7.04 and everything worked fine until, again, I did a system update! The last message displayed after pressing the shutdown and before the power down message, is: NetworkManager: <WARNING> nm_hal_deinit () libhal shutdown failed - Connection is closed I have a ThinkPad T21 laptop.
