I did the following things:
- patched 2.6.27-rc5 with the patch from comment #28
- booted into normal mode with parameters "acpi.debug_layer=0x00090004
acpi.debug_level=0x01f"
- stopped acpid
- executed "cat /proc/acpi/event"
- pressed LID two times
- pressed POWER button two times
- unplugged and plugged AC two times

Results:
LID and AC events are NOT reported. POWER button events are reported.
