The patch in comment #73 does not always shut down the system. After booting the patched kernel about a dozen times, there seems to be a fifty-fifty chance (without any statistical significance) for the system to shut down. This reminds me of comment #12. The way described there to shut down the notebook does not work every time too. I also checked the patches in comment #85/#86 again, but I could verify everything I wrote in comment #88: no shutdown.
