--- Comment #84 from Xavier Hourcade <public....@xapaho.com> 2012-05-30 07:50:06 --- Created an attachment (id=73462) --> (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=73462) 6 last critical shutdowns, commented very light log greps Still applies here to all kernels up to (including) kernel-3.3.6-3.fc16.x86_64 kernel-3.3.7-1.fc16.x86_64 Attached greps are commented, 6 critical shutdowns over 6 days :/ In some of them, the log was more or less abruptly closed, as shown. No. 6 occurred while re-starting right after no. 5, during the root partition passphrase (luks) prompt. Is it the same ACPI code which is running at this time ? In regards to the fan speed at power on: I think the hardware simply stores, *always* (i.e. even under normal conditions) the temperature or fan speed at power off and replicates it blindly at the next power on (then adjusting it after a few seconds, before any boot loader is executed if it has time to do so). I have noticed quite high fan speed (but not maximum) when I did poweroff/on fine, just to boot a new kernel after a long session with heavy load. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
