--- Comment #86 from Xavier Hourcade <public....@xapaho.com> 2012-05-30 22:21:13 --- Created an attachment (id=73472) --> (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=73472) complete /var/log/messages for 2 identical shutdowns, different messaging Full messages might help for these last two, also today o/ Both occurred *exactly* while performing the same task: * No Flash involved! Just Konsole, Kate and some erroneous Firefox profile, which launch locked the CPU every time at 100% - and beyond, said `ps` :) * My script WAITs were set to 1,1,0,0 (+ 0.5s for cpu % average, still) Experience was also, exactly the same i.e. Firefox launch, sudden fan max speed, then very brief OS shutdown screen/console messages, power off. However, messaging was again, "head or tail": May 30 16:25:18---21 * My script caught *five* critical events this time (2.5+ seconds), all complete * Kernel reported *part* of the ACPI/EC explicit error (cf. previous comment) * But no "Critical temperature shutdown" message, log was aborted. May 30 18:02:14 * My script had reported a *unique* (!) "notice" at 74 ÂșC* two minutes before, but had cooled back to "yawn" after that (hence looping each 1.5s) * Kernel reported (part of) the same ACPI/EC error message cf. previous comment * The "Critical temperature shutdown" message *was* reported, log completed. So it seems like I can reproduce the issue "at will" and my reports are all scripted - it's only messaging which is still "head or tail". Could anyone please guide me any further ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
