I have a V1Sn with a Core2Duo T7700.
It suffers the same problem - spurious shutdown with critical temperature at
127ºC (== 0x3F). It happens with both Bios 301 and 302, EC Bios is 1000B80001
(both for 301 and 302).

With OpenSuse 12.1 and kernel-desktop 3.3.x (from the Tubleweed repo) this
happened only every other week. After updating to kernel-desktop 3.4.0 the
shutdown happens 2-4 times a day. 

This is definitely not a temperature problem. I can put heavy load on the CPU,
so the temperature raises to 80ºC for an hour - and no shutdown happens.
Sometimes, with nearly no load the CPU has a temperature of 60-70ºC, and
suddenly pretends to raise to 127ºC within a second.

I am switching back to 3.3.6 now.
